Identifying and intervening your child at the earliest

It is about time to change our perception of a child’s growth and development.

Most parents measure development with physical growth and consider it as holistic development. They completely fail to see other milestones in a child’s growth. There are definite milestones a child should achieve in 5 years after birth.

Delay in achieving any of these milestones in speaking, playing, learning or behaviour  may be a vital sign of a developmental problem. A reassuring factor is, if these developmental problems are found in an earlier stage, corrective actions can be taken, and the child can still attain their true potential.

Developmental domains in early childhood include,

  • Physical and motor
  • Social and emotional
  • Approaches to play and learning
  • Communication, language, and literacy
  • Cognitive development

Nowadays, the incidence of Speech and hearing problems are increasing with or without permanent disabilities. However, Parental awareness about the importance of early detection and intervention is  still very low.

90% of a child’s brain development happens before age 5. So, this is the ideal time for an intervention. Early intervention can prevent children from falling behind developmentally, academically and socially.

  1. I have been browsing on-line greater than three hours today, yet I by no means discovered any attention-grabbing
article like yours. It is lovely price enough for me. Personally, if all web owners and bloggers made excellent content as you did, the internet will likely be much
    more helpful than ever before.
